We recently reported and provided tips on the importance of having a great food hygiene rating from your local authority explaining the food hygiene ratings system.
It’s now pleasing to see that “Just Eat” the online ordering platform for hundreds of restaurants and takeaways will remove any eatery who has a zero hygiene rating. A zero hygiene rating means that the establishment urgently requires improvement.
This comes after a recent BBC investigation found half of the outlets rated zero by the Food Standards Agency in Manchester, Bristol and London appeared on the app.
All zero rated eateries will be kicked off the app unless they can raise standards by 1st May 2019.
Essential 6 provides food hygiene training and auditing services from our offices in Torquay in Devon and across the UK to help businesses achieve legal compliance whilst achieving a high rating for the eatery on inspection.
