Fake Paramedic: who treated dying teenager jailed

Conman Kevin Davies has been jailed for 29 months after his fake claim to be an ambulance worker was exposed after the tragic death of teenager Rio Andrew (pictured) who took a lethal dose of ecstasy.

At the inquest Davies was asked multiple questions by senior coroner Serena Lynch but answered all of them with “no comment”

Davies repeatedly failed to provide detectives with evidence that he was a qualified ambulance technician and made excuses to defer numerous appointments with the police so a search warrant was executed on his home and at the Pioneer Medical Solutions offices where he was a part owner of the business..

Officers retrieved two certificates claiming that he had qualified as a West Midlands NHS ambulance technician in July 2002 and the another certificate that he had completed the ambulance driving training course in 2003.

These documents were analysed by the Head of Education for the West Midlands Ambulance Service Trust and both turned out to be fraudulent.

At Pioneer Medical Solutions, Davies had also signed off more than 1000 hours of work based assessments/training for his colleagues and these have now been completely invalidated because he was not qualified.

The company has now folded as a result of the fraud coming to light.
