The rigorous standards they set ensure only top instructors deliver unforgettable trainings with lasting effects.
The content of this course is designed to provide anyone whose work could foreseeably expose them to asbestos with sufficient knowledge to avoid putting themselves or others at risk, in line with regulatory requirements laid out in Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
Those at a higher risk are generally workers involved in refurbishment, maintenance and other similar trades as they could be at risk of exposure to asbestos during their work. These workers are generally employed in the following trades;
Heating and ventilation engineers, Demolition workers, Carpenters and joiners, Plumbers, Roofing contractors, Painters and decorators, Plasterers, Construction workers, Fire and burglar alarm installers, Shop fitters, Gas fitters, Computer and data installers, General maintenance staff eg caretakers, Telecommunications engineers, Architects, Building surveyors, Cable layers, Electricians and others who may be in the vicinity of their work activities.
Asbestos is a dangerous mineral that can cause cancer if inhaled or ingested. Currently over 5000 people each year in the UK alone die and suffer from an asbestos related disease.
Fibres from this material do not dissolve in water or evaporate, they’re resistant to heat and fire – making them perfect for use near flames and hence why they were extensively used in buildings until completely banned in 2000. Unfortunately Asbestos is still in many buildings to be disturbed and releasing the deadly fibres.
It’s important that you’re aware of the dangers asbestos poses. As such, we offer a number training courses in order for those who work with or near this material can ensure their own safety and avoid any risks they may come across when doing so!
