Anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially life-threatening reaction to an allergy such as nuts. To protect passengers the airline EasyJet has decided to ban nuts on all its flights.
Anaphylaxis usually develops suddenly and gets worse very quickly, symptoms include some or all of the following:
- impaired breathing
- swelling of the lips
- tongue or throat
- wheezing
- dizziness
- skin rashes
- confusion and anxiety
- clammy skin
- people collapse losing consciousness
