Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF Level 3) – 8th January 2019

Course Overview:

If you should require an understanding of First Aid for children and babies then this course is for you. It is recommended for schools, nurseries and for anyone who works with children. This course is also beneficial for babysitters, parents and grandparents wanting to gain an understanding of first aid for babies and children in their early years. Please note that to comply with EYFS and OFSTED standards the you will have to attend the 2 Day Paediatric First Aid Course.

Course Outline:

Learners will cover the following during the course:
: Legal requirements and responsibilities of the Pediatric First Aider
: Safety at the scene of accidents
: Resuscitation – Babies – Children
: Unconscious casualty management
: Recovery position
: Management of wounds and bleeding
: Shock
: Choking – asthma – croup
: Burns and scalds
: Recognition of common major and minor illnesses/conditions and appropriate actions to take. These can be bespoke to your organisation

Formative assessment conducted by Trainer throughout the course.
Theory assessment/multiple choice question paper
Practical assessment

This qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a qualification framework regulated by Ofqual.
