Course Overview:
Our workforce and communities are becoming increasingly diverse. Organisations need to be pro-active in developing the culture and practices that enable people to become valued, respected and motivated for the benefit of all. Often in the workplace when we ask the question what is Equality & Diversity we receive a varied and mixed response causing confusion. This course is very much aimed at making things clear.
Course Outline:
• Defining equality and diversity
• Recognising and building a picture of equality and diversity
• The importance and value of equality and diversity in the work environment
• Reviewing key legislation and the impact it has within the workplace
• What does the Equality Act 2010 mean?
• Appreciating the value of diversity
• Understanding the different attitudes and myths
• How to promote and encourage best practice at work
