Course Overview:

The objective of this training is for those attending to understand the meaning of Professional Boundaries and be able to identify and prevent poor boundaries. Within social care settings, it is often very difficult for staff to be able to keep professional integrity while meeting the needs of clients. This can often lead to frustration on both sides. This training enables staff to understand good practice in this field.

The course covers the following topics:

: What are professional boundaries and why they exist
: The value of roles within a formal setting
: How violation of boundaries can lead to poor communication
: The relationship between boundaries and potential abuse
: Strategies for maintaining boundaries and providing effective person-centred support
