Understand the importance of keeping work areas clean and hygienic \n3.1 Know how to keep the work area and equipment clean and tidy\, by following procedures relating to cleaning methods\, safe use of chemicals\, storage of cleaning chemicals \n3.2 Know the importance of safe waste disposal \n3.3 Identify the importance of pest control \n4. Identify the importance of keeping food products safe \n4.1 Identify main risks to food safety from contamination and cross-contamination from microbial\, chemical\, physical and allergenic hazards \n4.2 Identify safe food handling and temperature control practices for delivery\, storage\, date marking and stock rotation \n4.3 Identify safe food handling and temperature control practices for preparing\, cooking\, chilling\, reheating\, holding\, serving and transporting food \n4.4 Know how to deal with food spoilage including recognition and reporting \nCourse Duration \n1 Day \nQualification Assessment and Certification \nThis qualification is assessed by multiple-choice examination. Learners must complete 20 questions within 45 minutes. Successful learners will have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding across the qualification syllabus and achieve a pass mark of 60% (12/20). This qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a qualification framework regulated by Ofqual.

The course is accredited by the Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP). \nCourse Outline:\n:Identify the properties of asbestos and outline the history of its use \n:Effects on health\, including the increased risk of developing lung cancer for asbestos workers who smoke \n:Outline the types\, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos and asbestos containing materials\n(ACMs) in buildings and plant \n:Identify the main statutory provisions that relate to asbestos \n:Know the correct procedures to follow in an emergency \n:Know how to avoid the risks of asbestos \nCourse Duration:\n1/2 Day \nCourse Assessment:\nThere will be a 30 question multiple choice written examination paper at the end of the course\, with 80% being the pass mark. Certification is awarded by the Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP).
