This course covers the First Aid at Work syllabus and ensures that time is given to practice practical sessions and review updates. The course is accredited by the Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP). \nCourse Outline:\n:Identify the properties of asbestos and outline the history of its use \n:Effects on health\, including the increased risk of developing lung cancer for asbestos workers who smoke \n:Outline the types\, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos and asbestos containing materials\n(ACMs) in buildings and plant \n:Identify the main statutory provisions that relate to asbestos \n:Know the correct procedures to follow in an emergency \n:Know how to avoid the risks of asbestos \nCourse Duration:\n1/2 Day \nCourse Assessment:\nThere will be a 30 question multiple choice written examination paper at the end of the course\, with 80% being the pass mark. Certification is awarded by the Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP).
