DESCRIPTION:Qualification Overview \nThe qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of: \n• Resuscitation Council (UK)\n• Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications \nThis qualification is: \n• For people who deal with emergency first aid at work enabling them to be workplace emergency first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 \n• Based on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training standard for delivery of Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 \nThis qualification should enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations. \nLearners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe\, prompt\, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider. \nQualification Outline \n1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider \n1.1 Identify the role and responsibilities of a first aider\n1.2 Identify how to minimise the risk of infection to self and others\n1.3 Identify the need for consent to provide first aid \n2.
