Course Aims

This course is designed to:

• Raise awareness of workplace fire risks and safe practices.

• Teach staff the correct actions to take during a fire emergency.

• Give participants the rare and valuable opportunity to discharge a fire extinguisher on a real flame in a safe, controlled environment.

By the end of the session, learners will be able to:

• Identify common causes of fire in the workplace.

• Describe how fire spreads and the dangers of smoke inhalation.

• Understand the fire triangle and how fires can be prevented or extinguished.

• Recognise different fire extinguisher types and their suitable uses.

• Demonstrate how to safely operate a fire extinguisher (P.A.S.S. technique) on live flames using a fire simulator.
